[8th Edition - MYC] Fully Usable (somewhat) Content Calendar

Good afternoon everyone!

Welcome back to the journey of building the future of higher ed social media intelligence.

Thank you for following along. If you're new here, the purpose of this newsletter is to keep y'all informed on what's working & new, and the occasional ask for feedback to help shape the product further.

As a personal goal, I recently decided to start posting more on my personal LinkedIn. Instinctively, I was getting ready to make a content plan, but I stopped myself with a "hey, I can finally use Reach for all of this." It's actually been quite fun being able to be a user with a fresh perspective of actually needing to plan content. I’ve ran into a few kinks I’ve been able to smooth out as I’ve seen what feels good and what doesn’t- it’s coming together!

TL;DR (Too Long, Didn’t Read)

  • Create custom views of your ideas

  • Content Calendar for planning

  • See edit history & comments

WHAT’S NEW

Create New Views in Ideas

The idea storage is fully live for its first version. With Kanban view, easily see all your ideas, workshop them, then once they're ready, move them through with drag and drop! In list view, you're able to group by different variables and use it like a spreadsheet. Combined, you can apply filters and create new views! We provide you with some default variables and views, but they can all be hidden or customized to your workflow.

Look at Your Content Plans Through Calendar

Using the same ideas, the content calendar is also live for its first version! By default, it will show posts and ideas that are scheduled or already posted (which of course isn't possible yet). However, through filters, you can create new views with just your planned dates. This allows for complete content calendar moderation. Additionally, you're able to add notes to keep you organized on upcoming dates.

Upgrades to Editing Ideas: Comments + History

We've added a few new ways to edit your content: through a side peek view (preexisting side drawer), the center peek (modal view in the middle), and a full page view. While you edit your content, we keep track of edit history—emulating content creation on any Google Doc, etc. Additionally, you're able to leave comments and mention others on your team, which will send them notifications.

CHALLENGES / ASKS / WHAT’S NEXT

Anyone Willing To Test Out Ideas?

Now that you're able to fully store ideas in the platform and create new views, I'd love if anyone brave enough would try keeping their ideas in the platform and use it for a week to give feedback on what works and what doesn't.

I understand it's a big ask, but the best way to keep improving is to get as many perspectives on what works well, what feels easy to use, and what might still be missing. I will be your personal developer—as soon as I get feedback, I'll implement the changes. 🫡

As always, I appreciate you all for your help so far. I'm very excited to keep this going. Be on the lookout on Fridays for my quick updates.

We're always seeking your valuable advice and feedback. If you have any insights, thoughts, or ideas that you believe can contribute to our growth, we're all ears.

Thank you, once again, for being a part of our journey.

Best regards,

Blake
