This Data Policy describes how MeetYourClass, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) retains, processes, and deletes data in connection with MeetYourClass Reach (“Reach” or the “Service”). This policy supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Data We Process from Connected Platforms
When you connect third-party social media accounts (such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, or Threads) to Reach, we access and process data through each platform’s official API. This includes:
- Account and profile information: Page or profile name, profile picture URL, follower and following counts, bio, and account category or type
- Content and media: Posts, stories, reels, and other media published through or accessible via the connected account, including captions, media URLs, and thumbnails
- Engagement and analytics data:Impressions, reach, likes, comments, shares, saves, video views, follower demographics, and other performance metrics provided by the platform’s API
- OAuth access tokens: Encrypted tokens used to maintain the authenticated connection between Reach and the third-party platform
We do not access or store passwords for any connected social media accounts. We only access data within the scope of permissions you grant during the OAuth authorization flow.
2. How We Use Platform Data
Data obtained from connected platforms is used exclusively to provide the features and functionality of Reach, including:
- Publishing, scheduling, and managing social media content on your behalf
- Displaying analytics and performance metrics for your connected accounts
- Powering content recommendations and AI-assisted features (such as caption generation and brand voice customization)
- Enabling team collaboration features such as content approval workflows
We do not sell platform data to third parties. We do not use platform data for advertising or ad-targeting purposes. We do not share platform data with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (for example, transmitting content to an AI provider to generate a caption suggestion).
3. Data Retention
3.1 Active Accounts
While your Reach account is active, we retain all data associated with your account, including account information, connected platform data, content you create within Reach, and usage analytics. Data from connected platforms is periodically refreshed through API calls to ensure accuracy.
3.2 Disconnected Platforms
When you disconnect a social media account from Reach, we:
- Immediately revoke and delete the OAuth access token for that platform
- Retain historical analytics and published content records associated with that account for your reference
- Cease all API calls to the disconnected platform on your behalf
3.3 Account Cancellation
Upon cancellation of your Reach account, the following data is deleted:
- All OAuth access tokens for connected social media accounts
- Workflow data including ideas, drafts, task and kanban data, approval comments, and brand voice configurations
- Uploaded media assets
The following data is retained after cancellation:
- Records of content published through Reach (post history, publish dates, and associated analytics) for continuity and audit purposes
- Aggregated, de-identified usage data for product improvement
3.4 Retention Periods
- OAuth tokens: Deleted immediately upon platform disconnection or account cancellation
- Analytics data: Retained for the duration of the active account; historical records retained after cancellation
- Content drafts and workflow data: Deleted within 90 days of account cancellation
- Published content records: Retained indefinitely for audit purposes unless deletion is requested
- Publicly indexed research data: Retained independently of individual user accounts in our research database
4. Data Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at team@meetyourclassinc.com. When we receive a valid deletion request, we will:
- Confirm receipt of the request within 5 business days
- Delete or de-identify the requested data within 90 days, unless retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes as described in this policy
- Provide written confirmation once deletion is complete
You may also delete specific data within Reach at any time by:
- Disconnecting a social media account: Navigate to Settings → Connected Accounts and click “Disconnect” to revoke access and delete the stored OAuth token
- Deleting content: Remove individual posts, drafts, ideas, or media from your workspace
- Cancelling your account: Contact us or use your account settings to cancel, which triggers the deletion process described in Section 3.3
5. Meta Platform Data
In compliance with Meta Platform Terms, the following additional provisions apply to data obtained through Meta APIs (Instagram and Facebook):
- We only access Meta platform data that you have explicitly authorized through the OAuth permission flow
- Meta platform data is used solely to provide the publishing, scheduling, and analytics features of Reach
- We do not use Meta platform data for independent advertising, ad targeting, or data brokering purposes
- Upon receiving a data deletion request from you or from Meta, we will delete all Meta platform data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law
- If Meta notifies us that your authorization has been revoked, we will promptly delete the associated Meta platform data
To request deletion of Meta platform data specifically, you may contact us at team@meetyourclassinc.com or disconnect your Instagram or Facebook account from Reach.
6. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect all data processed through Reach, including:
- Encryption of OAuth tokens at rest using AES-256
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Access controls restricting employee access to platform data on a need-to-know basis
- Regular review of third-party API permissions and token scopes
- Data segregation between customer workspaces to prevent unauthorized cross-access
7. Third-Party Sub-processors
We use the following categories of sub-processors to provide the Service. Each sub-processor processes data only as necessary to perform its designated function:
- Cloud infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform / Firebase (hosting, database, storage)
- AI processing: OpenAI (caption generation, alt text, content labeling)
- Payment processing: Stripe (billing and subscription management)
- Email delivery: Amazon SES (transactional and notification emails)
- Analytics: Google Analytics, PostHog (product usage analytics)
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Data Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the effective date. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email or in-product notification.
